A few weeks ago, I pulled out the original sketch for my Model 67. It was dated 2007.

Looking at an old design like that is a strange thing. You immediately recognize your own hand in it, but you also see just how much your way of thinking has changed.

Back then, the Spyderco opening hole — used under license — appeared on almost all of my folding knives. The proportions, details and overall design language are very much from that period of my work.

So I decided to revisit it.

Not to turn it into a completely different knife, but to see what the Model 67 would become if I designed it today.

I gave myself three days.

It took five.

And with our 25-year anniversary event only about four weeks away when I started, there wasn't much room for getting distracted.

In the new video, I go through the complete process: the original 2007 sketch, new sketches, full 3D modeling in Fusion, and finally a 3D printed version to check the design in hand.

The Model 67 is now fully designed and ready for production — with the first custom version being made for the anniversary event.
